Fireworks are guaranteed when Darren Till faces Anthony Taylor in Manchester on January 18, live on DAZN.
Till was due to face Tommy Fury at MF & DAZN: X Series 20, but his rival backed out of the contest.
However, the larger-than-life Taylor has agreed to step in as Fury’s replacement and face the former UFC star at the Co-op Live, next month, in a UK vs US showdown.
Trash-talking Taylor is the MFB Light Heavyweight champion but moves up in weight to face Till, and their simmering rivalry is at risk of boiling over, now they are finally matched to fight.
Till and Taylor have been at each other’s throats for a long time, with the foes trading online barbs this summer after Taylor called out the ‘Gorilla’, following his stoppage win over Gabriel Silva in Dublin.
In a taste of what is to come in Manchester, Taylor told Till he would get his “ass whooped” before his rival fired back: “I will knock you flat out.”
The insults will only intensify when the pair come face-to-face next month, ahead of this exciting new main event at X Series 20.
Misfits Boxing can also confirm the rest of the card for the opening event of 2025, with Wade Plemons squaring off against The Masai Warrior.
